Saw Rach Stapp. That was the best moment of my life. Almost started crying...
Okay so for this week I dont really have much to say... I am sick of my clothes, suprise surprise...
SOOOO! On Tuesday we got to hear from the one and only Richard G Scott! He was fabulous! What an incredible opportunity it was Listening to him. The choir got to sing "Nearer my God to thee" and I was singing in it! People told me they did a close up of sister pickett and I... eek!
He talked about prayer. He said what an incredible blessing it was that God, the creator of the universe, the creator of Billions of earths, people, wants us to talk to him. About anything and everything. He said that sometimes we need to say a vocal prayer-ALOUD! He talked about how we all go through challenges, but how these challenges give us opportunity to learn and grow. We have the ability to learn about ourselves and discover who we are. So really God never gives us challenges or Trials, just blessings and learning opportunities! :) How great is that! Great right! Well it got even better! At the end of his talk he gave us an Apostolic (Okay I have no idea what the real name of it is) Blessing... he gave us a blessing and in the Blessing he blessed us with peace that through hard and challenging "Blessings" we would feel the Saviors love and peace. Then he told the Sister that he promised this Mission would bless us into the Eternities. He said, We will never cease to see the reward a mission will bring in our lives! (Can you say BEST DAY!) But the blessing/promise that was incredible and an answer to so many prayers. He said, All you missionaries that are learning a language, I bless you with the Gift of tongues. I Bless you that you will not only Learn the language, but you will MASTER it. For whom the Lord god calls, he Qualifies and you my dear friends you will be able to speak the language flawlessly. I get emotional even writing it. You dont know how many prayers were answered with that statement. All of the sisters have been praying and fasting and it was a direct answer. After he was done we sang the closing song and right before the Prayer, Richard G. Scott stands up again and comes to the pulpit and said, God wants me to tell you all one more time, "Your calls are from him. Remember you have been called and he will fit the task to your capabilities. God will not abandon you, he is with you always. He loves his missionaries. I know your callings are from god and you all will see that nothing can bring you more happiness than a mission at this moment."
HOLY COW. Pretty sure everyone was balling and the God was speaking directly through him to me. God is sooooo aware of us. Please Please PLEASE never forget that. God loves each of us so much and wants us so badly to return to him. And really it is pretty easy, All we got to do is choose to follow god. There is only one decision we have to make in this life, "Will I follow Jesus Christ or not"Once we have answered that question than no longer do we have a religion, we have a lifestyle. Being a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a lifestyle and it is the Best lifestyle. It makes us the happiest we can be. Never have I been happier and Never have I been more thankful for a prophet of God, who can touch the lives of so many.
Be careful what you do with the Agency god has given you. What if Jesus Christ would not have gone through with the atonement, what if nephi would not have made a record of his people, what if Joseph Smith would not have asked god which church to join, what if I would have chosen to do an MDT program... We all have our Agency in this life and when the moment comes when we have to make the decision, we will know what to do because deep down the answer is already there-because we chose to follow Jesus Christ. I know that if I would have done MDT there is no way I would be on a mission right now, Meeting so many incredible people, and learning so much. Really it is the most incredible thing looking back at my life and seeing how god has been apart of it all. Ah. What a beautiful thought, The God of the Universe, that is all powerful, is directing my life. He is telling me which path to take and has promised the Holy Ghost to be with me ALWAYS-as long as I keep my end of the Bargain. We must remember that the Holy Ghost is a Part of the God Head. He is all powerful too. And we can have him with us ALWAYS. He is inside us right now trying to refine us and help us become the person that God knows we can become.
Oh how glorious is this gospel. Oh how Blessed we are to know the truthfulness! Oh what an Incredible GOD we have, who loves us and cares so much for us. Ah. My Love for the Lord and the Savior has exploded out of my heart, I love them so much. The Time is NOW. These are the Last days and God needs us all to be our very best so that we can help him. He does everything for us, the Least we could so is be an EXAMPLE!!!!! The Atonement is real. Use it. Jesus Christ chose to do this for us. He had agency too, and when he was suffering and said, "Lord let this cup pass from me," he could have stood up and walked out of the Garden, but because he loves us-each of us-so much he stayed. He finished the Atonement and gave us all the Ability to have Eternal Life. Eternal Life-With our families and love one. Who wouldn't want that!
I WILL SCREAM IT TO THE TOP OF THE HILLS THIS IS THE ONLY TRUE GOSPEL ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH! Through this gospel we have the ability to be so happy in this life and the life hereafter! We need THIS gospel. THIS GOSPEL. THIS is GODS true church upon the earth right now, today, now and forever. We have his authority. We have a prophet. Go is the same yesterday, Today, and forever. I love this gospel. I love love love love love being a missionary and can not believe how much I have learned. I have been on my mission for 4 weeks and feel like I am a completely different person. I Love this gospel-read the book of Mormon. It can answer ANY question if you really ponder it. Study the scripture, pray to the lord. He wants to hear from you. You all know I will be doing the same. I love you my dear sweet family. I miss you all, and am so grateful that I get to be with you all for Eternity! Remember the family motto: No Weirdies! hehe. I love you all so much! Don't let ANYTHING distract you from the lord! He is the ONLY way! I love him and through him we can have Eternal Life.
EVERYONE SERVE MISSIONS! :) I am now the biggest advocate... You thought Katie was bad... you all Better Buckle up!!!! JAKE, JAMES, MAC- You guys are the next to go! You better be preparing! :) haha. Love you all so much!!!
